Deciding on Printers

There are as many printers out there as there are styles of cars. Most car buyers purchase their cars based on their needs and based on car reviews. Just like cars, printers should be chosen on based on the needs of the person doing the printing and on toner reviews.

Most printers purchased are either inkjet printers or laser printers. Inkjet printers are the least expensive; most can be purchased for under $500. While they may not cost much, they usually only come with a starter package of ink that will only print a few pages a refill is needed. The refills can be expensive and if a user prints often, they may find that are spending more on refills than if they had purchased a more expensive laser printer.

Laser printers can be purchased for less than a hundred dollars, but many run into the thousands of dollars. Laser printers use toner to print pages which can be held in large drums and can print pages both quickly and efficiently. Users that print frequently will find that the higher cost of a laser printer is offset by the number of pages that can be printed from a single drum, often over 1200 pages. The type of toner varies as well as the method the toner is applied. Consumers should check toner reviews before deciding on the type of printer they purchase to insure that they are meeting the printing needs, not all printers are created equally.
